These beautiful creatures live in the fields of the Sudbury River flood plain. In 2013, I've found them in the Charles River basin also! Their fragile habitats are under pressure from man made changes which arehurting the butterflies abilities to survive in Massachusetts. The areas where they are seen should be protected. Bronze Coppers are seldomly reported anywhere in Massachusetts outside of the Sudbury Valley. My photos were taken in Wayland, Sudbury, Concord, Wellesley and Needham during summer and early fall.
