These beautiful creatures live in the fields of the Sudbury River flood plain. In 2013, I've found them in the Charles River basin also! These fragile, limited areas under pressure from past and present man made changes which are negatively impacting the butterflies ability to survive in our area. The areas where they are seen should be protected. Bronze Coppers are seldomly reported anywhere in Massachusetts outside of the Sudbury Valley. My photos were taken in Wayland, Sudbury, Concord, Wellesley and Needham during summer and early fall.
